Projects Through the Years

Platte River System Noxious Weed Control

Over the years we have had the privilege to work very closely with the Weed Management Areas and landowners along the Platte River System in Nebraska. We have sprayed for Phragmites, Purple Loosestrife, Saltcedar, Leafy Spurge, and Russian Olive.
By means of airboats or ambibous utility vehicles we have covered the Platte River System from Lake McConaughy located on the western end of Nebraska to the confluence of the Platte River and the Missouri River on the far eastern end of the state.

Dogwood WMA Tree Removal

In efforts with Ducks Unlimited we were able to clear cut 7 acres and remove brush and cedars from another 12 acres. Ducks Unlimited has future plans to excavate the slough in the cleared areas reclaiming the wetlands and creating a great waterfowl habitat.

Republican River Island Burning

In this coordinated effort with the Twin Valley Weed Management Area we used prescribed fire pratices to burn off excess vegetation from nearly 60 miles of islands in the Republican River.

Notice the use of 2 drip torch lighters encircling the island. This allowed the fires to come towards each other creating a vertical smokestack.

Loup River System Yellow Flag Iris

Early detection rapid response (EDRR) has been key in stopping large infestations of invasive species. During this project we covered over 75 miles of the South Loup, Middle Loup, North Loup, and Loup Rivers identifying and spraying Yellow Flag Iris.
